User Experience Researcher

What is your role here at Sysco LABS? 

I am a User Experience Researcher, which means I find out what our users want through usability studies, qualitative and quantitative research, then share my findings and recommendations to designers, builders, and other team members at LABS.

Who / What is your greatest inspiration, and how does this drive your work? 

I’ve always been interested in the restaurant industry, and I’m really inspired by all of the people in the foodservice industry that work tirelessly to make the whole restaurant business happen for us. I’m extremely happy I can be a part of making their day-to-day life a little bit easier.

What are some of your unique strengths that make you good at what you do?

I’m always down to have an open and frank conversation about anything, and I work to create a comfortable atmosphere in which users feel like they can freely talk through their confusion and problems. I also just really enjoy being given a problem and then finding the best approach to solve it, so I find being a UX Researcher a great career fit for me.

What are some of your goals?  How is being part of the Sysco LABS team helping you reach those goals? 

My goal is to eventually help budding UX Researchers and become a mentor to those entering the field, as those who helped me out immensely when I was entering the field. Being part of Sysco LABS will provide lots of opportunities for me to grow into a better UX Researcher, so I can be that shrewd mentor for them.

What are some of the best experiences you have had  in your role here? 

I’m fairly new here, but so far I’ve truly been enjoying getting to know my team and diving headfirst into the work. My manager has also made the onboarding transition for me really seamless and has been super patient with all of my ongoing questions, which I am grateful for.

What are you happiest doing  in your free time?

I love cooking (anything spicy), learning languages (currently learning Russian), and watching trashy TV shows (addicted to 90 Day Fiancé).
