What is your role here at Sysco LABS?

I joined Sysco Labs in May of 2019 as an Android developer. I am working on the native rewrite of the Sysco Shop mobile app.

Who / What is your greatest inspiration, and how does this drive your work?

One of my biggest inspirations is my Aunt Pat, who has an unending curiosity about life and the way things work. She is never afraid to ask questions, with the goal of learning more about how and why things are done a certain way. She inspires me to keep asking, keep learning and to not lose that drive to find better ways to do things!

What are some of your unique strengths that make you good at what you do?

I am dependable and hardworking when it comes to learning new things. I am also good at communicating with different parties to collect information and then combining everything in a way that makes sense to everyone.

What are some of your goals?  How is being part of the Sysco Labs team helping you reach those goals?

One of my goals is to get more exposure to how different teams work, whether they be design, analytics, development or requirements teams. The Sysco LABS team has allowed me to do this by encouraging me to work cross-functionally to solve problems. I enjoy being able to see how other teams work together, and the teams we have here at Sysco LABS are always willing to help each other toward a common goal.

What are some of the best experiences you have had  in your role here?

In my role at Sysco Labs, I have been stretched as a developer and encouraged to learn so many new things along the way. I have a great team that works together to find the best solution to a problem.

What are you happiest doing  in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy going on walks and gardening with my husband. I also love watching home renovation shows with a big bowl of popcorn!
